ENG, CMU & KAIST Forge Engineering Alliances
On June 19, 2024, at 10 AM local time, the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Chatchawan Chaichana, Vice Dean, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Korrakot Yaibuathet Tippayawong, Associate Professor Dr. Wassanai Wattanutchariya, Assistant Deans, Associate Professor Dr. Santi Phithakkitnukoon, Head of Computer Engineering Department, Associate Professor Dr. Paramet Wirasanti, the Deputy Head of Electrical Engineering Department and Associate Professor Dr. Watchapon Rojanaratnangkule, Assistant Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, embarked from Seoul to Daejeon to meet and pay a courtesy visit Professor Jung Kim, Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, as well as, Professor Inkyu Park and Professor Ilkwon Oh, Professors of Mechanical Engineering Department at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST).
This visit aimed to strengthen existing relationships and expand collaborations, particularly in research and graduate student exchanges. Such collaborations are expected to lead to high-quality research projects, leveraging KAIST's advanced research tools and experienced personnel. The exchange of graduate students will greatly benefit their educational development, allowing them to engage in cutting-edge research alongside Korean experts and utilize state-of-the-art research facilities at KAIST. Additionally, the faculty had the opportunity to tour various modern departments and laboratories, including the Applied Plasma Research & Innovation Lab (APRIL), renowned for its advanced plasma research capabilities, all within the same afternoon.
