Explore water treatment innovations in the SAKURA Exchange Program 2024 at Nagasaki University, Japan
Representative students from the Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, were selected to participate in the "SAKURA Exchange Program in Science 2024", a short-term exchange program held from November 3 to 9, 2024, at the Graduate School of Engineering, Nagasaki University, Japan. The students include:
- Mr. Naratip Praking (Undergraduate Student, Student ID: 640610233)
- Mr. Praphawin Ortanasiripong (Undergraduate Student, Student ID: 640610242)
- Mr. Natthawat Wangwanakul (Master's Student, Student ID: 670631019)
- Miss Chamaiporn Nantakham (Master's Student, Student ID: 660631030)
This program, organized by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) in collaboration with Nagasaki University, provided an opportunity for students from Thailand and Vietnam to learn about Japan's advanced water treatment technologies, particularly membrane filtration. This technology is highly efficient for wastewater treatment and clean water production.
The program not only broadened the participants' technological perspectives but also facilitated the development of knowledge and solutions to address pollution and water scarcity issues in Thailand. During the a week program, the students engaged in various activities, including laboratory experiments, site visits to Sasebo City’s water production facilities, and knowledge exchange seminars with students from VNU University of Science, Vietnam. The program was coordinated by Prof. Takahiro Fujioka from the Japanese side.
Participation in this program marked a significant step toward fostering international academic collaboration and enhancing the capabilities of Thai students in developing environmental technologies for a sustainable future.
