Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University Visits Kinsei Sangyo in Japan to Discuss Future Collaboration
On November 4, 2025, Assistant Professor Dr. Chatchawan Chaichana, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Associate Professor Dr. Watchapol Rojanaratanangkool, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Chiang Mai University, visited Kinsei Sangyo Co., Ltd. in Japan. Kinsei Sangyo is a leading company specializing in waste incineration systems utilizing gasification technology.
During the visit, the delegation attended a presentation by three Chiang Mai University engineering students who have just completed their six-month Co-operative Education internship at Kinsei Sangyo:
- Ms. Patcharamai Suntornwetch (Department of Computer Engineering)
- Mr. Wayu Tarai (Department of Computer Engineering)
- Mr. Kunanon Rakkasivit (Department of Mechanical Engineering)
These students received full support from Kinsei Sangyo, including travel expenses, accommodation, and living allowances throughout their internship period. Their internship has now been successfully completed, and they are scheduled to return to Thailand at the end of November 2025.
Over the years, Kinsei Sangyo has welcomed a total of five students from the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, for Co-operative Education internships. The first student joined the company in 2018, and to date, four out of these five students have become full-time employees at Kinsei Sangyo — a testament to the strong and enduring partnership between the company and the university.
During this visit, both parties also discussed future collaboration opportunities, particularly in the areas of joint research and the establishment of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to serve as a foundation for continued and sustainable cooperation in the years to come.
