On April 17, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University (CMU), warmly welcomed Prof. Dai Zhiyo, Director of the KKU-SWJTU Tianyou Railway Institute from Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU), People's Republic of China. The visit aimed at discussing academic collaboration and was held at The Faculty of Engineering office building.

The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen the relationship between the two institutions and to exchange ideas on planning integrated joint programs, both Non-Degree and Degree Programs. These initiatives aim to foster expertise, facilitate knowledge exchange, provide scholarships, and create student exchange opportunities at the graduate level—promoting both academic and cultural exchange.

Attendees from the Faculty of Engineering, CMU, included:

  2. Prof. Dr. Korrakot Yaibuathet Tippayawong, Vice Dean and Director of Chiang Mai International Engineering School
  3. Prof. Dr. Pinyo Puangmali, Assistant Dean and Director of Multidisciplinary Engineering College
  4. Prof. Dr. Peerapong Jitsangiam, Director of Chiang Mai University - Advanced Railway Civil and Foundation Engineering Center (CMU-RailCFC) and Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering
  5. Miss Usanee Pongsawaleesri, Head of Office Chiang Mai International Engineering School
