On April 22, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University (CMU), held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Collaborative Research Agreement with Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), Indonesia. The collaboration centers on the research project titled “AI-Supported Tool Development for Decarbonized Food System,” funded by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) under the 2024 e-Asia Joint Research Program (e-ASIA JRP).
The agreements were signed by Associate Professor Dr. Pawarut Jongchansitto, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, and Prof. Dr. Zainal Arifin Hasibuan, Vice Rector IV for Digital Affairs, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM).
This partnership aims to strengthen academic exchange and collaborative research, particularly in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Information Technology. It also seeks to promote international research opportunities through various funding mechanisms such as the SICORP program, supported by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and Indonesia’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (KEMENDIKBUD RISTEK).
The agreements highlight the shared commitment of CMU and UNIKOM to enhance academic capacity and drive impactful, sustainable research that benefits society both regionally and globally.
