Engineering CMU Fosters Job Opportunities in Japan with ASIA to JAPAN

the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University (CMU), welcomed Mr. Masato Sampei, representative from ASIA to JAPAN, at the Gear 201 Meeting Room. The visit aimed to explore potential collaboration in explore potential collaboration in enhancing students’ career readiness, with a focus on employment opportunities in Japan on July 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
The meeting was honored by the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Thongchai Fongsamootr, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Faifan Tantakitti, Assistant Dean and Deputy Director of CM-IES. There are also representatives from the Departments including Associate Professor Dr. Watchapon Rojanaratanangkule (Head of Mechanical Engineering Department), Associate Professor Dr. Santi Phithakkitnukoon (Head of Computer Engineering Department) and Assistant Professor Dr.Rattapol Pinnaratip (Associate Head of Industrial Engineering Department), as well as CM-IES staff. Assistant Professor Dr. Saranya Kongjit, lecturer from Department of Oriental Languages, Faculty of Humanities, also joined the meeting.
ASIA to JAPAN is a business consulting firm with an office in Thailand. The company plays a key role in supporting Japanese companies investing or expanding their businesses in Thailand, as well as providing business management and HR consulting services in Japan.
The discussion focused on potential collaboration to help prepare students interested in pursuing careers in Japan after graduation. Key initiatives include the development of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the promotion of an online Japanese language training program. These efforts aim to improve students’ language proficiency and cultural understanding, thereby increasing their competitiveness in the Japanese job market.
