On September 17, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, hosted a warm welcome for a delegation from Mie University, Japan, at the Gear 201 Meeting Room. Assoc. Prof. Thongchai Fongsamootr, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, together with Asst. Prof. Korrakot Yaibuathet Tippayawong, D.Eng., Vice Dean and Director of Chiang Mai International Engineering School (CM-IES), and CM-IES staff, greeted 16 participants comprising alumni (Class of 1975–1978), current students, and coordinators from the Faculty of Engineering, Mie University.
The Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, and the Faculty of Engineering, Mie University, have cultivated a long-standing partnership marked by joint research, faculty and student exchanges, and the co-hosting of the Tri-University International Joint Seminar and Symposium. This academic initiative, rooted in the shared vision of three partner universities—Chiang Mai University (Thailand), Mie University (Japan), and Jiangsu University (China)—continues to serve as a cornerstone of collaboration.
This visit not only strengthened academic cooperation but also highlighted the warm and enduring ties between the two institutions—ties that resemble an academic family. These bonds will continue to form a strong foundation for advancing education and research toward a sustainable future.
