On October 24, 2024, a delegation from Nottingham Trent University (NTU) visited Chiang Mai University (CMU) at the CMU Science and Technology Park (CMU STeP) to discuss potential academic collaborations, including a 4+1 program. Representatives from the Faculty of Engineering, CMU Business School, and executives from CMU STeP participated in the discussion.

The NTU delegation comprised:

  • Prof. Xiao Ma, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Management and the Director of the Centre for Business and Industry Transformation (CBIT)
  • Prof. Jay Bal, Visiting Professor and Venture Builder Panel Member, Nottingham Business School (NBS), Nottingham Trent University
  • Muhammad Abbas, CBIT Business Community and Engagement Officer (Entrepreneurship), Nottingham Business School (NBS), Nottingham Trent University

The meeting was attended by distinguished representatives from CMU, including:

The discussions focused on the creation of a 4+1 program, which would enable students to complete a bachelor’s degree at CMU and a master’s degree at NTU within five years. This collaboration aims to enhance academic exchange and provide students with international exposure and advanced educational opportunities.

The visit marks a significant step towards strengthening the academic ties between NTU and CMU, fostering innovation, and promoting global educational standards.
