Academic Staff and Former Executives of the Faculty of Engineering Were Awarded on the Occasion of 55th Anniversary of the Founding Day of Chiang Mai University
Congratulations to academic staff and former executives of the Faculty of Engineering on the occasion of the 55th Anniversary of the founding day of Chiang Mai University on 24th January 2021 at Sala Dham, Chiang Mai University as follows:
- Associate Professor Phrut Sakulchangsatjatai, PhD. received “CMU Golden Elephant Award for Academic Year 2020” which is an outstanding lecturer award in Science and Technology.
- M. King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun has officially endorsed the title “Professor” on the academic staff of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Matthew Owen Thomas Cole. This title is awarded in recognition for his distinction in his respective fields and contributions to the research and teaching.
- The Faculty of Engineering was awarded as an outstanding faculty supporting and developing the innovation for the outbreak of COVID-19;
- Team “CMU Aiyara and Chang-Noi Robots” led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Theeraphong Wongratanaphisan. CMU Aiyara and Chang-Noi are robots passing aliments and medicaments to patients infected with COVID-19 as well as monitoring body temperature and symptom including collecting tableware used, clothes and rubbish. The medical personnel will be communicating with the patients through the intercom.
- Team “Prototype of Quarantine Equipment for Medical Personnel” led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chatchawan Chaichana. It consists of 3 equipment; prototype of negative pressure stretcher cot, negative pressure net for quarantine and swap test positive cabinet. To ensure the safety of all medical personnel and minimize the diffusion of pathogens, these three prototypes have a suction box and are sterilized by UVc and then filtered with HEPA before being released into the air.
- Team “Development of Negative Pressure Room” led by Mr. Wiwat Phongreungkiat, Faculty of Engineering Alumni. The room can prevent airborne diseases from infecting the hospital by removing them from the air via a HEPA Filter + UVc and Ozone. The room itself consists of 4 treatment rooms and each room has a negative pressure system. The room also minimizes the risk of viral airborne diseases spreading.
- Associate Professor Komgrit Leksakul, PhD received “Distinguished Thesis Award 2020” and “Distinguished Dissertation Awards in Sciences and Technology”
In addition, former executives; dean, associate deans and assistance deans received the outstanding executive certificates on the occasion of completing their term of office.
