Engineering CMU project awarded by Mekong – Lancang Fund- EV supply chain redesign towards SDG
Assoc. Prof. Sakgasem Ramingwong, Ph.D., a faculty member of the Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, and the head of the “Prospect Supply Chain for Small Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) in Lancang-Mekong Region” project, along with Asst. Prof. Korrakot Yaibuathet Tippayawong, D.Eng, also a faculty member in the Department of Industrial Engineering and a researcher in the project, participated in an operational workshop to exchange project implementation strategies organized by the Office of the Mekhong-Lancang Special Fund in the fiscal year 2023. The workshop took place on February 5, 2027, at The Sukhothai Hotel, Bangkok.
The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Thailand has opened proposals for projects under the Mekhong-Lancang Special Fund. In the fiscal year 2023, the following special emphasis has been placed on cooperation areas with China:
- Development of cooperation mechanisms within the Mekhong-Lancang framework.
- Economic recovery post-COVID-19 in the Mekhong-Lancang region.
- Sustainable development, especially in the areas of water resources, environmental conservation, and climate change.
- Social and cultural exchanges.
- Elevating the quality of life and well-being of the population, addressing public health, poverty alleviation, rural development, and promoting youth, women, and persons with disabilities.
The “Prospect Supply Chain for Small Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) in Lancang-Mekong Region” project is one of the 13 selected projects from the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation and is one of the 18 projects approved for financial support from the Mekhong-Lancang Special Fund in the current fiscal year. The allocated budget for this project is USD 266,661 out of a total budget of USD 4,148,217, approximately 150 million Thai Baht.
