The Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, led by Dean Associate Professor Dr.Thongchai Fongsamootr, participated as a witness in the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation between Chiang Mai University and Guangzhou University. The ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. GUO Yonghang, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Committee and Secretary of the CPC Guangzhou Committee, who also witnessed the signing on Monday, April 1, 2567 from 10:30 - 11:40 a.m. at the Phrayasriwisarnwaja Conference Room, Office of the University.
This Memorandum of Cooperation aims to promote academic and research collaboration between the two institutions, encompassing the exchange of personnel and students, joint research projects, as well as cooperation in organizing academic conferences and practical activities.
The signatory from Guangzhou University was Professor Yanming Sun, Vice President for Strategic Planning and Development, while the signatory from Chiang Mai University was Assistant Professor Dr. Thanyanuparb Anantana, Vice President.
After the ceremony, both parties discussed potential areas of collaboration, covering topics such as student and faculty exchanges, joint education programs and student mobility, opportunities for joint research in chemical engineering, artificial intelligence, and advanced technologies for intelligent manufacturing, as well as promoting multilateral cooperation between Chiang Mai University and the other members of universities of Guangzhou International Sister-city Universities (GISU), the People's Republic of China.
