ENG, CMU Welcomes Delegation from CCU to Discuss Collaborative Programs and International Internships
The Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Chatchawan Chaichana, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, warmly welcomed a delegation from National Chung Cheng University (CCU) from Chinese Taipei. The delegation visited to discuss academic collaborations between the two institutions, focusing on student exchanges and short-term internship programs, which aim to provide students with international experience and broaden their global perspectives. The visit took place on August 8, 2024 at the Hall of Fame, 6th floor, 30th Anniversary Building.
After the meeting, the CCU delegation toured the departments and laboratories of the Mechanical Engineering and Computer Engineering departments to experience the capabilities and teaching resources of the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University.
The highlight of the visit was the promotional event for academic programs, scholarships, and short-term internship opportunities for engineering students interested in studying and exchanging in Chinese Taipei. Esteemed speakers from CCU included:
- Prof. Her-Terng Yau, Director of the Advanced Institute of Manufacturing for High-tech Innovations (AIM-HI) / Department of Mechanical Engineering
- Prof. Yong-Song Chen, Department Chair of Mechanical Engineering
- Assistant Prof. Van-Linh Nguyen, Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering
- Ms. Hsin-Tien Ho, Project Coordinator
To provide students with in-depth information and a clearer picture, the event also featured alumni who had received scholarships and gained practical experience at CCU. Mr. Nopparuj Suetrong (a Master’s degree student from the Department of Computer Engineering) and Ms. Narumon Jongmanwattana (a Doctoral’s degree student from the Department of Mechanical Engineering) shared their valuable experiences with the current students.
The visit of the CCU delegation marks a significant step in strengthening academic cooperation between the two institutions, leading to the development of student and staff potential as well as the advancement of research and innovation in the future.
