Visit to College of Automation Engineering, NUAA for Academic Collaboration
On the afternoon of November 8, 2024, a delegation from the Faculty of Engineering at Chiang Mai University (CMU), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thongchai Fongsamootr, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, visited the College of Automation Engineering (CAE) at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) to explore potential avenues for academic collaboration.
The CMU delegation included:

- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watchapon Rojanaratanangkule, Lecturer, Department of Mechanical Engineering
- Dr. Krit Sujarittam, Lecturer, Department of Mechanical Engineering
- Dr. Kittiya Thunsiri, Lecturer, Robotics Engineering and AI Program
- Ms. Usanee Pongsawaleesri, Head of Chiang Mai International Engineering School
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Professor Lu Ningyun, Vice Dean, along with other faculty members and staff from CAE.
During the visit, the CMU team had the opportunity to observe helicopter models and learn about other aerospace-related projects in fields such as aerodynamics, radar technology, satellite systems, and advanced image processing for weather prediction. The team was impressed by the sophisticated developments showcased by CAE.
Discussions also included potential opportunities to invite professors from CAE as guest lecturers for CMU’s undergraduate programs, fostering a valuable exchange of knowledge for both students and faculty members. This visit marks a promising step toward future collaboration between the two institutions.
